SO...

I was sick of seeing all these batman stamps that were like, "JOKER PWNS BATMAN." And I'm sick of hearing, "OMG I love the Joker. I saw the new Batman movie JUST for him. Batman just sucks."

Don't get me wrong, I love Joker. Best villain ever, by far.

Only a TRUE nerd would know this BUT...

Joker wouldn't exist without Batman. Joker (AKA Jack Napier) was a comedian who wasn't funny worth poo. He turned to a life of crime, long story short- Batman pushed him into a vat of toxic waste and his skin turned white and he went crazy.

So in reality, there are no scars. Without Batman, Joker wouldn't exist. (Don't believe a nerd like me? Look here. [link] )

TLDR: I like Batman better than Joker. *man voice* yaaaaaaaay.

Batman belongs to DC, not me.

Believe me, I'm tired of seeing all those people with the movie version of the Joker make-up all over DA, as if the Joker has been invented for this movie.

Come ONNNN, Cesar Romero is the coolest Joker and will always be!

Seriously! I mean, I give Ledger props. He was AMAZING at giving a new prospective to the whole character, but I don't get why it's cool to be obsessed with him. :/

 Cesar Romero was a good one. :XD:

I agree with you fully on this term. I agree with the 'Joker wouldn't exist without Batman' thing too. (it's nice to see people who know the REAL story besides me.)
Not only are there "OMG Joker rocks Batman sucks!" debates going on, but also people debating on who was the better Joker. Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger.
Honestly in my opinion, Mark Hamill is and always will forever be the real Joker, but I like them both. Nicholson's version concentrated more on his goofy playful side while Ledger's was more based on his dark terrorist side.

Joker is a good villain and all but at the same time, Batman is the hero and the main character and he just seriously rocks!

I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING! I suck at signatures. ಠ_ಠ

:nerd: 's unite! :XD: :giggle:
Mark Hamill is #1 in my book too.

Ledger Joker is just to scary. D: And after being chased/pestered by several Ledger based Joker's on Halloween, I'm just plain scared of him. :fear:

Nicholson was amazing too. Gotta love him. :XD: My grandma is as scared of him as I am of Ledger JOker.

I don't get it when people like him better than Batman. Makes NO sense to me.

My love of The Joker has almost nothing to do with the movie - it simply helps x3

I haven't been a fan of the Batman universe for very long, but, The Dark Knight aside, I absolutely love The Joker. I've never found Batman compelling. I could see where someone could see his charms, yes, but personally I've never liked him. The Joker, on the other hand, is a psychotic blitz of wonderment and crazy and I have always loved him. Yes, Batman's actions were the catalyst to create this interesting, and sometimes frightening, character, and yes, both characters reach even higher heights when interacting with one another (or when The Joker interacts with Harley x3), but, in my eyes, The Joker will always be the better because he is the more compelling of the two.

^^; So, yeah...I did go see The Dark knight just for The Joker, but it's not because of any bandwagon...:D It's 'cause I've never really liked that caped crusader.

>>;; And though the knife cuts were cool, the face-burning probably should have stayed..

I can't believe I just had a fanboy moment.

I agree with you  I haven't seen The Dark Knight yet, but if it's at the same league as Batman Begins, I'm sure it's wonderful. It's just sad that Ledger's Joker is becoming a cliché too quickly, because of everyone obsessing over him (maybe because his make-up is different from the comic one - smudged?). That book series, Twilight, is suffering the same fate.

The obsession over Cesar Romero is a Brazilian thing. We had a comedy fandub of one episode of the 60's series, and the Joker is the funniest. There is a whole following over him, and the series and the two guys who did the dub

He is my favorite villain from the series, and maybe I'm just more turned off to him becfause my sister told me he lived under my bed when I was little. ( ) So I've always been more scared of him than I probably normally would. Maybe that has something to do with it. :P

I have no problem with people liking the Joker better than Batman, it's just when they don't have a reason behind it (other than the movie.) like you do.

I think it would have made more sense if they had kept his story the same. :P

Are you kidding? There were small CONVENTIONS dedicated to our "dynamic duo of dubbing". Can you imagine hundreds of geeks gathered in an university room attending a panel (not unlike those in anime conventions) with them?

I've seen videos of those meetings! It's really fun.

The funniest is that the fandub was made in 1979 when they were teenagers. One of the guys was the owner of one of the first VCRs in Brazil, and it had a "dub" button. So, they did it for fun. They lent the tape to lots of people until it got lost, in the hands of a mystery someone. More than 20 years later, this person who happened to still have the tape, digitized it and posted in the web. The video was a success and became an internet meme, and the two guys, now older, became internet celebrities.

I just like them both, they're just amazing characters all around. Doesn't matter which side they're on, just as long as they're interesting.
